Before you decide to work out and before you set a meal plan, you first need to know what kind of person you are. I'm not talking about the kind that is nice, creative or funny, but what kind of body type you have. There are three main types: ectomorph, endomorph, and mesomorph. Huh? Let me explain.
Ectomorph: lean, lightly muscled, takes longer to gain muscle, small shouldered, thin. If you are in this group you probably have long limbs and tend to get cold easily. Famous ectomorphs include Kate Moss, Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Paris Hilton...and me!
Mesomorph: large bones, well defined muscles, square jaw, thick fingers. Famous mesomorphs include Sylvester Stallone, Bruce Willis, Halle Berry, Jennifer Garner, and Mark Wahlberg.
Endomorph: soft and round body, short limbs, large head, thick upper arms and legs. Famous endomorphs include John Goodman, Danny DeVito, Jack Black, Oprah, and Kate Winslet.
It's possible to be a combination of two categories, but one usually has some dominant features that lean towards the majority of one. The key is knowing which group you are in to determine which workout and nutrition plan you should be on and what food(s) you should or should not be eating. Each body responds differently to training and nutrition. Let me know if you need help deciding which category you fall in and which training/meal plan is best for your type.
